Manessis Estate

Manessis estate, where our festival is held every summer,

is a place with a unique history for its wider area

Portocheli and Ermionida, but also for the founder of the festival, George Manasses, who was fortunate enough to live in the nature of the estate and the area during the first few years of his life. The estate was purchased by his father and a merchant Constantine Manasses at the beginning of the 20th century. As witnessed by relevant photos of the time, the landscape was different important from today. The houses were scarce, so was the green, while the ground was dry and rocky. K. Manesis, being a great naturalist, with great patience and perseverance and through continuous excavation and tree planting managed to turn the barren landscape into a true paradise, full of pine trees, cypresses and more.
