The Manessis Estate, where the\u00a0Festival\u00a0is held every summer, is a place of significant importance and considerable beauty. It presents a landmark for the wider area of Porto Heli and\u00a0Ermionida, as the landscape itself was notably altered since the time of its acquisition by the Manessis family at the beginning of the 20<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/sup><\/span>\u00a0century.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When Constantine Manessis, the father of Yorgos Manessis, acquired the land, the area was sparsely populated, the territory was coarse and dry, with hardly any greenery around for miles. Due to the owner’s passion for nature, his persistence, hard work and vigorous planting of trees and\u00a0foliage,\u00a0the\u00a0estate was transformed into the wonderful oasis we still enjoy today!\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It was in that environment that Yorgos Manessis had the fortune of growing up, and it was that precise environment that endowed him with the endless love for Nature and its wonders and inspired his artistic and musical development.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

  • By Ferry: From Piraeus port (gate E7, against the Church of St. Spyridon) daily flying dolphins depart for the islands of Poros, Hydra, Spetses and Porto Heli. Travel time 2-2.5 hours.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
