Program Notes

The concert begins with F. Chopin’s Polonaise Op. 26 No 1, in C# minor – the first one published by the Polish composer – where the heroic and passionate sections alternate with more lyrical and simpler melodies. The program cοntinues with R. Schumann’s “Scenes from Childhood”, a series of 13 imaginative miniatures, ending with F. Liszt’s 6th Hungarian Rhapsody with its gypsy melodies and rhythms and strongly virtuosic character.

Our male-dominated society has excelled with its high technological advancements, its scientific discoveries … its intellect.. Yet, we are not happy, why? Because we lack tenderness, sensitivity, understanding, brotherly love, beauty: in short, the feminine qualities of life. “Only Nations with capable mothers progress” said Goethe .. Our society needs from the Woman, the Mother, the Female Values! Let us, women, and mothers-to-be, offer them!

Aulon Bino has studied piano performance at the Synchrono Conservatory of Athens, initially with Stella Karantasi and later with Yorgos Manessis. He has given numerous recitals both in Greece and in Albania.
