Biographical notes

As an orchestral musician, Martina Silvester she has worked with many renowned orchestras in various countries and with distinguished conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Valery Gergiev, Krzysztof Penderecki, Friedrich Haider, Shlomo Mintz, Pavel Klinichev, Markus Poschner and Ariel Zuckermann. In parallel to her work as an orchestral musician, she also enjoys performing as a soloist with various chamber orchestras such as the Munich Bach Orchestra. In 2009, together with the pianist Susanna Klovsky, she founded the “Ensemble Clazzic“. Since 2014 she has been performing as “Duo Naiades” with the harpist Feodora-Johanna Mandel. Since 2011 Martina Silvester has been working regularly in Israel with the composer and pianist Uri Brener. In 2018 Martina Silvester founded the “Ensemble Leilani” together with the cellist Katerina Giannitsioti. In 2017 Martina Silvester made her Japan debut as a soloist together with the Munich Bach Orchestra and performed in prestigious concert halls such as the “Tokyo Opera City Hall” and the “Izumi Hall Osaka”. A powerful stage presence is a notable feature of all of her work as is her desire that, through music, people are touched and moved. Martina Silvester is endorser for the Japanese flute company . She plays a 14K gold flute of the model series type 7. She particularly enjoys creating themed and interdisciplinary programs. In addition to her work as an orchestral and chamber musician, Martina Silvester conceives and moderates concerts for children and is active as an author. Martina Silvester has been a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now! Foundation and has recorded frequently for television, radio and diverse CD projects. This charismatic and versatile flutist is also known for her teaching skills and gives numerous master classes at home and abroad. 

Katerina Giannitsioti was born and raised in Lamia, where she began her musical education at the city’s Municipal Conservatory. Her musical horizon spans from baroque to contemporary music. After completing her postgraduate studies at the Munich Academy of Music with professors Kristin von der Goltz, Walter Nothas and Wen-Sinn Yang, she has a long-standing collaboration with, among others, the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. She is a founding member of the contemporary music ensemble der/gelbe/klang. She has appeared in various chamber music and baroque music festivals from Luxembourg, Scotland, Italy to the Canary Islands.

Grigorios Zamparas has received rave reviews for his performances in recitals, chamber music concerts and orchestral concerts in Greece, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Russia, Latin America, South Korea and the United States. He frequently appears in various festivals around the world, such as the famous Newport Music Festival (Rhode Island, USA), Mainly Mozart Festival (Miami, USA), Artist Series of Sarasota (USA), Salon of the Arts (Sofia, Bulgaria), the International Portoheli Festival e.t.c. Furthermore, he has appeared as a soloist in more than twenty different piano concertos, with orchestras such as the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra (Brazil), the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Neo-Politan Chamber Orchestra, the Togliati Philharmonic (Russia), the Sofia Soloists (Bulgaria) and the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra (Czech Republic). He is an assistant professor of music and head of the piano department at the University of Tampa in the United States, as well as member of the Quartet de Minaret, a piano quartet based at the same university. In the academic year 2010-2011 he received the Outstanding Scholarship or Creative Work Award. Grigorios Zamparas started studying piano at the age of seven, while he received his piano diploma from the Lamia Conservatory in 1995 with the distinguished Greek teacher Yorgos Manessis. He holds a DMA from the University of Miami where he studied with Ivan Davis, a student of Vladimir Horowitz. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Indiana (MM), the University of Indianapolis (BM) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 1993 he has appeared continuously at the International Portoheli Festival where he has performed more than 300 works. Recently, the American label Centaur Records released G. Zambara’s recordings of the five Piano Concertos of the Russian composer Anton Rubinstein.
